WHERE WE PERFORM
For over 30 years, Phoenix Productions has been dedicated to the mission of providing quality theatrical experiences on both sides of the footlights. After three decades of performances at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, the organizations have merged, combining and solidifying their regional impact on the performing arts.
What does this mean? For one, Phoenix’s productions take place onstage at the Basie Center’s beautiful, historic theatre. Built in 1926, the Basie Center’s Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre employs the latest in stage, lighting and sound technology, with a capacity of 1,568.
Phoenix Productions also produces two shows a season at The Vogel, the Count Basie Center’s state-of-the-art, multi-purpose performance space. Evil Dead: The Musical, Green Day’s American Idiot and more have attracted capacity crowds to this exciting and new space, which seats approximately 350 persons for stage productions:
Together, Phoenix Productions and the Count Basie Center have a clear vision: to be the place where a diverse mix of talented people want to do their best work. The organizations’ continued pledge to deepen their commitment to cultural competency, racial equity and social inclusion is at the heart of the Basie Center’s mission as a nonprofit.
